8 Step Program Testing

The Hay "Soar to Success" 8-Step Plan began in November 2010. The plan emphasizes key skills for every student, allows students to reain skills in order to build high thining skils and aligns planning, instruction, assessment and support toward student performance. The planning, instruction, and assessment are administered on a 3-week basis. The assessment data is used to continuously identify and support the needs of students. The 30-minute daily Soar time is implemented in grades 1 through 4 focusing on remediation, maintenance, and enrichment. The 30-minute period reinforces the standards and skills taught previously. Games, manipulatives, and technology are utilized during the Soar period. Hay "Soar to Success" time is exciting as students look forward to being with other grade level students and work with other teachers and support staff.
